Puppy Linux on VirtualBox – The screenshot tour

  • Install Puppy Linux in VirtualBox

    1. Lets start the Virtual machine..
      Lets fire up the Puppy
    2. The Host Key – This key is important! By using this key, you can unlock your keyboard and mouse from the Virtual machine.

    3. Take care of the Firewall stuff
      Take care of Windows Firewall
    4. Here boots your virtual machine brought to you by Sun Microsystems!

    5. Boot Prompt for Puppy Linux. Just hit enter for now..

    6. Linux kernel is loading itself in RAM

    7. Mouse detection

    9. Video Card Selection.IMPORTANT: For many screens, I found Xvesa to be much more stable, albeit less featured, video driver. I would suggest go with Xorg and if you get a blank screen, then close the VM, come back again to this screen and then select XVesa as video driver.

      Shutdown the Virtual Machine

    10. Adjust the screen resolution and Screen depth.

      Correct the resolution and color depth
    11. There it is our puppy lovingly installed and available for use.
      Here is our Puppy Linux running in VirtualBox!!
  • Next time, (if there is one), I will give another screenshot tutorial for using the puppy linux in Virtual machine.
